SHAYNE EHMAN

LOOSE TRUCKS

Friday February 20th 7-10pm

Exhibition Closes March 4th, 2026

Loose Trucks brings together a selection of photographic works, sculptures and drawings by Shayne Ehman. This show has developed over the past five years and honorifically reflects on and spotlights Thunder Bay Skate Culture not as spectacle, but as lived experience.

Ehman has been skateboarding for most of his life. It shapes how he moves through the city and how he looks at it. His photographs catch skaters mid-air or mid-impact, suspended between risk and control. These are quick moments, but they hold weight. They show how a body tests a surface and how a place becomes something else through use.

As you move towards the stone sculptures you feel a shift into stillness. Carved from salvaged material, their forms echo ramps and transitions found in skateparks or improvised street spots. They feel familiar without being literal. What is usually built to be ridden is instead slowed down and held in your hands.

Loose Trucks brings attention to material, to gravity, to the space between intention and outcome.

Most importantly it brings attention to the people here who know what it means to fall in front of one another. We move through time together, shaping with a gentle push and pull and crying for this version of the world to hold steady.

Stay lost, but stay together.
