SHAYNE EHMAN
LOOSE TRUCKS
Friday February 20th 7-10pm
Exhibition Closes March 3rd, 2026
Loose Trucks brings together a selection of photographs and sculptures by Shayne Ehman.
This show has developed over the past five years and reflects on Thunder Bay skate culture as a lived experience.
Shayne has been skateboarding for most of his life. It shapes how he moves through the city and how he looks at it.
These photographs are just slices of a few sessions which he decided to bring his camera along.
They are quick moments, but they hold weight. They show how a body tests a surface and how a place becomes something else through use.
As you move towards the sculptures you feel a shift into stillness. Carved from locally sourced stone, their forms echo transitions
Found in skateparks and city streets. Each sculpture is a dream which met matter in the middle.
Loose trucks brings attention to material, to gravity, to the space between intention and outcome.
Most importantly it brings attention to the people here who know what it means to fall in front of one another and to offer support to inspire perseverance. We move through time together, meeting the world with a gentle push and pull like flowing waves.
Shayne Ehman is an artist living in thunder bay. his work spans many different forms including filmmaking animation painting sculpture drawing and photography. sorry he is such a nerd.
